We’ve Got Answers
Rotary is about connection, service, and impact.
At the Murfreesboro Breakfast Rotary Club, we believe lasting change begins with people who care enough to take action. Whether it’s supporting local schools, backing community nonprofits, or contributing to global initiatives, we put Service Above Self into practice every day.
This page answers the questions we hear most often from future members, volunteers, and community partners. If you’re curious about who we are, what we do, or how you can be part of the work, you’ll find everything you need to get started here.
What does MBRC stand for?
MBRC is short for Murfreesboro Breakfast Rotary Club. We’re part of Rotary International, a global service organization committed to improving communities and making a positive impact locally and worldwide.
Who can join MBRC?
Anyone with a heart for service and a willingness to live by Rotary’s motto, Service Above Self, can become a member. We welcome people from all professions, backgrounds, and walks of life who want to connect, serve, and grow.
When and where does the club meet?
We meet weekly in Murfreesboro on Thursday mornings. Meetings include fellowship, breakfast, guest speakers, and updates on service projects. Check our Events page for the current schedule and location.
What does MBRC do in the community?
We host multiple fundraising and community-building events, like our Boro BBQ Fest and Blake Tidwell Golf Scramble. In 2025 we were able to give out over $100,000 in grants from these fundraisers.
How is MBRC different from other Rotary clubs?
Every Rotary club shares the same values, but MBRC offers a unique breakfast-club culture. We start the day early with energy, fellowship, and a focus on practical projects that create visible impact.
Do I have to attend every meeting?
Regular attendance helps you get the most out of Rotary, but we understand life and work commitments. Rotary offers flexibility—members can make up missed meetings at other clubs or through online options.
How much does membership cost?
Membership dues cover Rotary International fees, district dues, and club expenses. These help fund service projects, events, and operations. Costs are kept reasonable, and details are provided during the membership process.
What is the Rotary Foundation and Paul Harris Fellowship?
Great question! Rotary Foundation refers to the Rotary International Foundation – a philanthropic fund that provides funding for global initiatives like Ending Polio, Clean Water, and Global Peace projects. Paul Harris Fellows is a special recognition available to honor Rotarians and Non-Rotarians for their contributions to the mission of Rotary International. We are proud to be a 100% Paul Harris Fellow club. What this means is that we as a club are visibly active in pursuing the Rotary International initiatives.
How can I get involved without becoming a member?
We always welcome community partners and volunteers. You can support events, donate to causes we champion, or join us at fundraisers. If you’re curious, attending a meeting as a guest is a great first step.
How do I apply for membership?
Simply reach out through our Contact page or speak with a current member. We’ll invite you to a meeting, introduce you to the club, and walk you through the application process.
