The Murfreesboro Breakfast Rotary Club is proud to recognize Tom and Barbara Collins as recipients of the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow award—one of Rotary International’s highest honors.
While Tom and Barbara are not members of our Rotary club, they exemplify the spirit of Rotary through their selfless service, generosity, and dedication to making our community a better place. The Paul Harris Fellow recognition is presented to individuals whose lives reflect Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self,” and few embody that principle more completely than Tom and Barbara.
Many in our community may recognize them from the Murfreesboro BBQ Festival, where their beautifully restored old fire truck has become a favorite attraction for attendees of all ages. Their enthusiasm, volunteer spirit, and willingness to be part of community events have brought smiles to countless families and helped make the festival a memorable experience year after year.
Beyond the BBQ Festival, Tom and Barbara have quietly and consistently invested their time, talents, and hearts into serving others. Their kindness, community involvement, and commitment to helping those around them have made a lasting impact throughout Murfreesboro.
Recognizing community members like Tom and Barbara reminds us that service takes many forms. Whether through volunteering, supporting local organizations, or simply showing up for neighbors in need, every act of kindness strengthens our community and inspires others to do the same.
It was our privilege to present Tom and Barbara Collins with the Paul Harris Fellow recognition. We are grateful for all they have done for our club and for the Murfreesboro community, and we congratulate them on this well-deserved honor.
Please join us in celebrating Tom and Barbara Collins and thanking them for their outstanding commitment to serving others. Their example reminds us that the greatest impact often comes from those who serve with humility, generosity, and a genuine love for their community.
